Even with grey skies I love to be by the ocean, atleast if I have the right clothes for the occasion! 

To sit by the ocean and feel the salty winds - I love it! 

It will never be the "wrong time" to be in Helsingborg. You can always enjoy it as long as you know what to do.

A wild guess on my part, but I don't think I'm the only one longing for a nice vacation. 
How about lying on the beach, underneath the shadows of a palm trea, watching the sunset with a juicy drink in your hand?

Most of us with this dream in mind think of destinations like Greece, Spain or maybe Thailand. 
Maybe I know something you don't?

Nimis is many things...

What it can be for you is up to you to deside! 

So, some facts about Nimis. 

First and foremost you should be aware that it is not easy to get there. It's located on Kullaberg - the tip that stands out from Skåne. 

You need to go up and down along trodden paths and it is not adapted to be an accessible tourist destination. There for, if you have limited mobility in one way or another it might be hard to get there. 

Nimis is a living artwork started in 1980 by the artist Lars Vilks. Lars Vilks is somewhat of an controversial artist and Nimis is no exception. When the authorities discovered the artwork in 1982 a series of ligitations was initiated. Meanwhile Vilks sold his artwork to a private person abroad, which made it more difficult to carry on with the disputes. 

At the end of 2016 large parts of Nimis were damaged in a fire. However, this did not stop Vilks who immediately started reconstructions. This started another dispute with the authorities that is still ongoing. 

In 1996 the area where Nimis is located was declared as an independent nation - Ladonia. Vilks even opened up for people to seek for citizenship in the new state. If you want to know more about Ladonia and Nimis I recommend a visit at the official website - www.ladonia.org 

My personal relationship to Nimis is, besides being an exciting and beautiful place,connected to my mom who passed away in 1998. Before she died she started to work with Vilks where she created pictures of Nimis that he then colored. Together the created three different motifs where each picture is unique through Vilk's coloring. 

A legacy I got from my mom is the first pictures of all three motifs. They now hang on my wall as a constant memory of here creativity, soul and drive to do something more in life. 

There is something very speciel about the south of Sweden, and I wanna share that feeling with everyone!

About 15 years ago I had the brilliant idea that I was bored with my hometown, Helsingborg. 
I wanted to see something new, experience new places, live somewhere else. 
So I moved... to Norrköping. 

Not to put Norrköping down, but it ain't Helsingborg, that was clear to me pretty fast. 
I hade ten very interesting years in Östergötland but I missed Skåne. In 2013 I moved back home - finally! 

Now, every time I walk through the streets of Helsingborg it feels like a puppy love! 
When the salty winds touch my face I feel blessed. 
When the sun hits the ripple of the sea I feel joy. 
When I sit in the car, or go by train, and see all the beauty that Skåne has to offer I take mental pictures and saves them in my memory. 
When the yellow fields of colza spreads out over the landscape, touching the blue skies, it's more beautiful than a painting. 

There is so much to see here, so much to feel and so much to do and I want you to fall in love with this place the same way I have. 

Since photography is a interest of mine, my thought is to share Skåne with you through my lens.
